From July 8th to 10th, the third-party certification body SGS carried out a three-day certification audit of the Pingshan factory's electrostatic protection management system in accordance with ANSI/ESD S20.20:2021 standards. This audit employed a three-pronged approach of "document review, on-site verification, and personnel interviews" to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of the ESD management system operation.
On the first day of the audit, the audit team focused on verifying core records such as system planning documents, product certification for electrostatic control facilities, incoming material verification, metrological calibration, periodic verification, and anti-static training files, confirming the system documents were complete, compliant, and properly implemented. Over the next two days, the audit team carried out on-site verification in the EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area), requiring the ESD testing supervisors in each area to conduct practical measurements and verifications of key indicators such as grounding resistance of workbenches, resistance of wrist straps and shoe systems, balance voltage of ion fans, dissipation time of electrostatic fields, electrostatic field voltage on insulator surfaces, and potential to ground of isolated conductors. At the same time, the audit team randomly interviewed frontline operators to assess their mastery of basic ESD knowledge and job protection requirements.
In response to individual non-standard practices identified during testing operations and equipment maintenance, the audit team offered on-site guidance and specified areas for improvement. With the full cooperation of the ESD team, department heads, and regional contacts, the audit was successfully passed, and the Pingshan factory once again obtained the electrostatic protection management system certification.
